U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the United States will initiate its most severe economic operations to date against Iran, following Tehran’s failure to capitalize on opportunities for a diplomatic agreement.
Kabul 24: Describing the new campaign as “unprecedented economic warfare and isolation,” Trump signaled a drastic escalation in Washington’s strategy to pressure the Iranian regime.
Trump claimed that Iran’s military capabilities, national currency, and infrastructure have already been severely weakened by previous actions, asserting that the new measures aim to completely sever Tehran’s economic lifelines.
Dubbing the effort “Economic D-Day,” he called on international allies to align fully with the United States to ensure total global compliance in isolating the regime.
The U.S. President issued a stern warning to foreign governments, financial institutions, private companies, airports, and state entities, cautioning that any attempt to help Iran evade sanctions would trigger massive economic penalties.
He emphasized that all avenues used to bypass restrictions—including oil smuggling, swap agreements, cash transfers, exchange houses, vessel re-flagging, and front companies—must cease immediately.
According to Trump, the ultimate objective of this campaign is to cripple Tehran’s ability to fund regional proxy groups and expand terrorism.
Reaffirming Washington’s core stance, he reiterated that the Islamic Republic will never be permitted to acquire a nuclear weapon, marking a highly aggressive shift in U.S. economic policy toward Iran.
