U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a blunt warning, declaring that if Oman interferes with Washington’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz, it could face heavy U.S. military strikes.
Kabul 24: These threatening remarks come as the ceasefire between the United States and Iran is set to expire on Monday, with tensions over control of the critical energy waterway reaching a boiling point.
In an interview with Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst, the U.S. President stated in a menacing tone: “If Oman gets in the way, we will bomb them heavily.” Washington’s aggressive stance comes despite Muscat traditionally serving as the primary diplomatic mediator between Tehran and Washington. Iranian officials had stated just last week that intensive talks were underway with Oman regarding mechanisms for reopening and managing the Strait of Hormuz.
During the same interview, TrumpTrump Claims IRGC is “Severely Weakened” and Forces are Fleeing; Asserts Full US Control Over Strait of Hormuz confirmed that his administration has established a direct, backchannel line of communication with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Assessing the current position of the Iranian side, Trump remarked: “They are good poker players, but they are being destroyed.”
When asked about a potential timeline for concluding the confrontation with Iran, the U.S. President declined to set a deadline, emphasizing that Washington is in no rush to wrap up the operation.
Issuing a direct military threat against Oman a neutral nation long central to regional diplomacy signals a deepening crisis and underscores Washington’s escalating pressure to assert total control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
