Habib Ghafran, spokesperson for Afghanistan’s Ministry of Information and Culture, announced that over the past four years, approximately 24,000 foreign tourists have visited the country.

According to Ghafran, the ministry is actively working to implement new programs aimed at enhancing the tourism industry, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
Afghanistan, with its rich cultural heritage, including the ancient sites of Bamiyan, Mazar-i-Sharif, Herat, and Kabul, holds immense potential for attracting tourists.
The iconic Buddha statues of Bamiyan, historic mosques, and stunning natural landscapes are among the attractions that captivate international visitors.
Ghafran emphasized that the Ministry of Information and Culture, in collaboration with relevant institutions, is developing policies to streamline visa issuance, improve tourism infrastructure, and enhance security in tourist areas.
These efforts include renovating accommodations, upgrading transportation networks, and training tour guides.
Additionally, the ministry is pursuing initiatives to promote Afghanistan’s lesser-known attractions to the global audience. These plans involve creating digital content, participating in international exhibitions, and collaborating with global tourism agencies.
