The University of Health Sciences (UHS) in Lahore has issued an official directive announcing that, pursuant to new instructions from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC), all educational processes and services for Afghan citizens enrolled in medical and dental programs have been suspended for the current academic year.
Kabul 24: According to the document, new admissions, university transfers, relocations, and the provision of any educational facilities to Afghan students are completely prohibited until further notice.
This decision not to only affects prospective applicants but also leaves current students in a state of uncertainty. Under the new policies, all Afghan students previously enrolled and currently studying in medical and dental institutions across Pakistan are required to discontinue their studies and return to Afghanistan.
Furthermore, the University of Health Sciences has instructed all relevant administrative departments and institutions to process the legal and administrative procedures for these students’ departure as quickly as possible.
This includes issuing No Objection Certificates (NOC) and providing the necessary administrative arrangements to facilitate their return to Afghanistan. All executing units have been mandated to submit a full compliance report on the implementation of this order within 24 hours to the relevant authorities.
