The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan has announced that, despite recent regional conflicts, the country’s foreign trade continues to operate smoothly and without disruption.
Kabul 24 :a statement, the ministry emphasized that imports, transit, and the supply of goods with neighboring and regional countries remain normal in domestic markets, with no unusual fluctuations in the prices of essential commodities recorded. This statement was issued in response to media reports claiming shortages or market instability, which the ministry dismissed as baseless.
To strengthen the supply chain and prevent any trade disruptions, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has reinforced import routes from Central Asian countries.
Additionally, strict measures have been implemented to curb hoarding and market manipulation, ensuring price stability and access to essential goods for the public. These steps reflect the government’s commitment to maintaining economic stability amid sensitive regional conditions.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance, on the third day of the recent Israel-Iran conflict, confirmed that Afghanistan’s borders and customs points with Iran remain open, and trade and customs relations between the two countries continue without issues.
According to the ministry’s statement, border crossings such as Abu Nasr Farahi in Farah province, Nimroz, and the Iran-side crossing, which were temporarily closed for one day due to a ceremony in Iran, have resumed operations. The loading of Afghanistan’s commercial goods at Iran’s Bandar Abbas port is also proceeding normally without interruption.
Despite ongoing tensions and reciprocal attacks between Iran and Israel, Afghan authorities stress that these conflicts have not yet significantly impacted the country’s foreign trade. This stability in trade, particularly under challenging regional security conditions, highlights the Afghan government’s coordinated efforts to sustain trade flows and meet domestic needs.
The Ministries of Industry and Commerce and Finance are closely monitoring commercial and customs activities to prevent potential disruptions.
These measures have not only helped maintain domestic market stability but also bolstered confidence among traders and regional partners. With this trajectory, Afghanistan is expected to maintain its position as a reliable trade partner in the region.
