Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, delivered a stark warning at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit held in Istanbul, Turkey, highlighting that the ongoing oppression and aggression by the Israeli regime against Palestine and the Islamic Republic of Iran pose a direct and immediate threat to the security and stability of the entire region.
Kabul 24: He cautioned that the persistence of these inhumane actions, which blatantly violate international law and human rights, could lead to catastrophic and far-reaching consequences for regional and global peace.
Addressing the representatives of OIC member states, Muttaqi urged decisive action, stating, “As members of this organization, we bear a historic and moral responsibility to stand against the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime.
I call upon all of you to take resolute steps and implement practical measures to halt Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people and Iran. Failure to act will directly jeopardize the security of our nations, with consequences that could engulf the entire region in turmoil.”
Emphasizing the critical role of the OIC as one of the largest international bodies representing the Muslim world, Muttaqi stressed that the summit must go beyond merely documenting challenges.
“This gathering should not be a platform for voicing concerns alone. It must serve as an opportunity to devise actionable strategies, adopt unified positions, and propose innovative solutions to effectively counter these threats,” he remarked.
The Acting Foreign Minister underscored the necessity of unity and solidarity among Islamic nations, adding, “If we move forward with strong political will, Islamic brotherhood, and enhanced coordination, we can not only safeguard the dignity and honor of our nations but also exert significant influence on global decision-making processes, thereby strengthening the standing of the Muslim world in international affairs.”
In closing, Muttaqi called on OIC member states to bolster political, economic, and diplomatic cooperation to play a more active role in supporting the Palestinian cause and confronting Israeli aggression. He reiterated that only through collective action and unwavering commitment can the Islamic world put an end to injustice and foster lasting peace in the region.
