After India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that Pakistan’s Sindh province “was originally part of India and may return to it again one day,” Islamabad described the remarks as “dangerous, provocative, and contrary to regional stability.”
kabul 24: On Sunday, November 23, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, called the comments “delusional and irresponsible” and urged New Delhi to refrain from threatening rhetoric that undermines regional peace.
A day earlier, during a public gathering, Rajnath Singh had said that “borders are not permanent” and that Sindh, which was separated from India in 1947, “may once again become part of India.”
He added that many Sindhi Hindus never accepted the separation of the region, and that those with Sindhi roots and a cultural connection to the Indus River “will always belong to India, no matter where they live today.”However, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry stressed that instead of raising historical claims, India should ensure the human rights of its religious minorities within its own borders.
The ministry further stated that New Delhi must take practical steps “to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.”
