Zalmay Khalilzad, former U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, criticized Afghanistan International TV in a post on X, questioning its reaction to the cancellation of a meeting in Islamabad.

Why is it so upset that I convinced invited Afghans not to participate in a conference in Islamabad hosted by an ISI-affiliated media outlet?

Is Afghanistan International a news organization or a dependent media entity?”These controversial remarks have sparked debate about the role of media in Afghan political affairs. Afghanistan International TV has not yet issued an official response.
