New Wave of US Attacks on Iran Begins; Trump: We Will Destroy All Iranian Capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz

According to reports from Iranian news agencies, southern and southeastern regions of the country witnessed multiple explosions and activation of air defense systems on Monday night.

Kabul 24: The US Central Command also announced the launch of a new wave of attacks on Iranian targets for the third consecutive night. In its initial report, the official IRNA news agency reported hearing four explosions in the eastern areas of Bandar Abbas.

At the same time, Fars News Agency covered other aspects of the incident, reporting missile and aerial attacks on areas including Chabahar, Larak, and Konarak.

The agency, while announcing the activation of air defenses in Bandar Abbas, quoted local sources saying that the main location of the explosions was likely Konarak, with the sound intensity strong enough for residents in Chabahar to hear it as well.

On the other hand, Tasnim News Agency, citing residents of Chabahar and Konarak, reported six powerful explosions in these areas. Follow-up by Tasnim journalists from informed sources indicates that the exact location of these explosions remains unclear, and security forces are investigating the dimensions and origin.

The agency also claimed, quoting its local sources, that “several deviant ships” in the Strait of Hormuz were targeted. These attacks come amid heightened tensions over control of the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump had previously stated that the United States would eliminate all Iranian capabilities in this strategic waterway. Trump emphasized that America intends to take full control of the Strait of Hormuz and prevent ships from passing without paying fees.

The US Central Command stated in a release that these operations aim to weaken Iran’s ability to attack commercial and civilian vessels and will continue. Reports suggest the targets included military facilities, radars, and coastal bases in southern Iran.

This new round of clashes intensified following mutual accusations regarding attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran had earlier claimed to have targeted several vessels, while the United States viewed these actions as justification for continuing its military operations.

The tensions have also impacted global oil prices, causing sharp fluctuations in the energy market.

Experts believe these conflicts could have broad consequences for global energy security, maritime navigation, and regional stability.

So far, exact details of damages and casualties have not been officially announced, and both sides continue to exchange accusations.
